It doesn't hurt that K-Rob, like many of the most successful and
innovative singers, hails from the Midwest as his uncles - The Isley
Brothers, John Legend, O'Jays, Tracy Chapman, Boz Scaggs. He
honed his craft at Tennessee State University (TSU) in Nashville, TN,
through a diligent work ethic. He began developing his vocal acuity
as a vocalist with the renowned TSU Jazz Band. During this time,
Robertson toured and performed in various groups and festivals. He
recalls, "My college experience enhanced my experience as a
versatile lyricist."
In April 2022, Robertson released his famous rendition of the iconic
"Caravan of Love," originally penned by his uncles, Isley-JasperIsley. After the success of his 2022 release, Robertson dropped Slow
& Sexy featuring his son Nick R.O.B in 2023. With two major releases,
mainstream and urban radio picked up the hits, charted in the Top 10,
and was named New Comer of the Year on Soul Cafe Radio.
